The R8 Companion™ app is a sophisticated tool that maximizes the functionality of your R8 radar detector, enhancing your driving experience in the process. Its intelligent alerts and advanced muting capabilities make it a comprehensive solution for getting the most out of your R8.

Building on the success of the V1 Companion™ app, which is available separately for owners of the Valentine One radar locator, the R8 Companion™ app incorporates years of optimization and features.

One impressive feature of the R8 Companion™ app is its enhanced GPS location-based "false muting" through SpotLocks™. With this app, you can rest assured knowing that all future updates will be available free of charge to purchasers of R8 Companion™.

The alerting and muting systems of R8 Companion™ are fully optimized for the R8 platform. The intelligent voice announcements and on-screen visuals keep you well-informed and aware of your surroundings.

Please note that to function correctly, R8 Companion™ requires a Uniden R8 radar detector with US Version 127 firmware.

<ul>
 <li>SpotLocks™: Location-based false silencing made easy. Activate the intelligent location-based learning feature and let R8 Companion™ handle the rest. Alternatively, you can manually lock or unlock locations from the main alert screen.</li>
 <li>Seamless integration with your R8's built-in "auto mute memory" locations. Any changes you make to locations on the app will be applied to your R8 simultaneously.</li>
 <li>Option to play detector tones within the app.</li>
 <li>"Proximity" meter: A better representation of the signal source using high-resolution signal strength and direction information provided by the detector.</li>
 <li>"K & X falses in area" meter: Shows the number of possible false alerts in your current area based on accumulated SpotLock data™.</li>
 <li>"Custom Phrases" for audio announcements regarding specific threats.</li>
 <li>High-resolution meters for the priority alert, not limited to the number of bars on the R8 display.</li>
 <li>Customizable heads-up display (HUD) that shows the band, signal strength, frequency, and direction of the priority alert. The HUD is color-coded to differentiate real threats from muted false signals.</li>
 <li>HUD displaying secondary alerts' bands, signal strengths, frequencies, bogey counts, and directions.</li>
 <li>Independent muting of rear K & X band signals.</li>
 <li>Advanced BSM/CAS/Ka False Muting optimized for the R8 platform.</li>
 <li>Ability to adjust the R8's internal detector settings from within the app (a list of available settings is provided). This feature requires US Version 127 firmware.</li>
 <li>"Ghost" muting that quiets false alerts when you are near a vehicle emitting false signals.</li>
 <li>"Passive Mute™" feature that reduces volume below user-set speeds and during weak K & X signals.</li>
 <li>Bogey count display indicating the total number of threats detected.</li>
 <li>Vehicle speed (in MPH or KMH) displayed with color-coding for each alert type.</li>
 <li>Mute status with the ability to manually mute/unmute alerts as needed.</li>
 <li>Detailed and intelligent voice announcements providing information such as direction, band, frequency, strength, number of alerts, occurrences of mixed signals, and more.</li>
 <li>Automatic muting of Ka, K, and X bands, with adjustable "time before mute" for each band.</li>
 <li>"Reduce Speed" notification for user-set speeds.</li>
 <li>"Urgency Alerts™" that unmute growing threats and provide voice and notification alerts.</li>
 <li>"Alert History" feature allowing you to review past alerts with detailed information about each encounter.</li>
 <li>Compass heading displayed.</li>
 <li>Option to toggle between imperial and metric units.</li>
 <li>Detailed trip summary at the end of your ride, including duration, distance, alerts, muting statistics, battery level, and more.</li>
 <li>iPhone and Apple Watch notifications for direction, band, and frequency of each alert.</li>
 <li>Tips/Help system available for assistance.</li>
